Our name, Newton Park PR, reflects where our founders live and work: Rich Chimberg in Newton, Massachusetts (outside of Boston), and Margaret Kirch Cohen in Park Ridge, Illinois (outside of Chicago).

Margaret Kirch Cohen
Margaret has more than 30 years of experience in strategic corporate communications, media relations, crisis and issues management, internal and executive communications, speech writing, M&A communication strategy, social media, and financial/shareholder communications.
Before co-founding Newton Park, she co-led its predecessor firm, CL-Media Relations, for six years as a partner. Previously, Margaret was head of global corporate communications for Morningstar, Inc., a leading provider of independent investment research in Chicago, from 2000 to 2016. Earlier, she was director of corporate communications for 360 Communications (the wireless spinoff of Sprint) in Chicago; vice president of corporate communications for Mellon Bank in Pittsburgh (now BNY Mellon); and director of corporate communications for Phelps Dodge Corp. in Phoenix. A native of Scottsdale, Ariz., she has a bachelor’s degree in journalism from Northern Arizona University and is accredited in the profession of public relations.

Richard Chimberg
Rich has more than 35 years of experience in public relations and financial journalism. Before Newton Park, Rich co-founded its predecessor firm, CL-Media Relations, in 2006, and co-led it for 13 years. Earlier, Rich served as senior advisor responsible for public relations at Putnam Lovell NBF, a specialist investment bank focused on the global asset management industry.
Before his PR career, Rich spent 20 years reporting on the investment management business, beginning in 1983 at Institutional Investor’s Money Management Letter. In 1988, he founded and edited Investment Management Weekly (IMW) newsletter and in 1994 launched Return on Investment (ROI), a magazine focused on the business of money management. After selling IMW in 1996 to Thomson (now Thomson Reuters), Rich covered the global asset management industry for Bloomberg News from 1998 to 2000. He then joined InvestorForce.com and established Investor News Service, the first real-time online news service devoted exclusively to the global investment management business.

Strategic Partner
Tom brings to Newton Park more than 40 years of industry experience, including CEO and other C-suite roles at leading financial services firms.
Tom retired as president of TD Ameritrade, Inc. in 2022. Before TD Ameritrade, he spent 18 years at asset and wealth manager Waddell & Reed Financial, Inc. in Kansas City, serving as corporate chief marketing officer and CEO of its Waddell & Reed, Inc. and Ivy Funds Distributor, Inc. subsidiaries. Earlier, he was president of Stein Roe Mutual Funds in Chicago and held leadership roles in corporate and investor communications at Mellon Bank Corp. in Pittsburgh.
Tom is past chairman of the National World War I Museum and Memorial, the Kansas City Sports Commission, and the Lyric Opera of Kansas City.
He holds a bachelor’s degree from The Pennsylvania State University, is the recipient of numerous industry awards, and has spoken nationally and internationally on asset management issues.
Andy Gilman
Andy is senior vice president of Yes& CommCore, LLC. He was founder, president and CEO of CommCore Consulting, which merged with “Yes&” in 2023. Since 1985, Andy has helped senior executives, officials and spokespersons at some of the world’s most prominent businesses, associations, non-profits and government agencies achieve their communication goals. Andy has counseled clients for challenges that include “60 Minutes,” Congressional Hearings, FDA Advisory Committees, investor road shows for public and private companies, town halls, new business pitches, crisis response and product launches. Andy holds a Juris Doctor degree from Fordham University and a master’s degree in education and a bachelor’s degree in history from the University of Pennsylvania.

Katie Schimmel
Chief Content and Media Strategist
Katie has an extensive background in investment management and financial services marketing and communications. She was a marketing content strategy manager for Northern Trust Asset Management for five years. Before that she worked for Mesirow Financial for 18 years in a variety of marketing communications roles, including supporting the firm’s equities, fixed income and alternative investment offerings.
Katie has a bachelor’s degree in public relations and marketing from the University of Dayton. She has also held FINRA Series 7 and 63 licenses and a Chartered Retirement Plans Specialist designation.
Adam Middleton
Adam is a design consultant for Newton Park PR. He is an accomplished art director with more than 25 years of experience in the financial industry and academia.
Previously, Adam was a creative director for Franklin Templeton, where he led the thought leadership, global investment marketing, and education design team. He also served as creative director for the University of St. Francis, managing the institution’s branding and design projects. Before that, he was the design director at UBS Asset Management and a design manager at Morningstar from 1998 to 2013.
Adam focuses on team building, design strategy, and delivering thoughtful, impactful design solutions across industries. A native of Chicago, he received a bachelor of fine arts in graphic design from the University of Illinois Chicago.
